The questions people ask

My transcript is empty, or it is in the wrong language

Open the lecture. If it says how few words came back, tap the language it offers — the lecture is read again on your iPhone. The course's language is on the course's Edit screen.

Where is my audio?

On the iPhone that recorded it, and nowhere else. Courses, timetables and transcripts sync through your iCloud; the recordings do not, because a term of audio would fill it.

A lecture landed in the wrong week

Open it, choose Edit lecture from the menu, and change the date. Importing from a week's own Import button files it under that week.

Can I bring in a recording made somewhere else?

Yes. Import any audio file the iPhone can open and it is transcribed like a lecture you recorded in the app. Only the audio track is read.

Does it keep recording when I lock the phone?

Yes. Lock it and leave it on the desk. The Lock Screen keeps buttons to mark a moment, to pause and to stop, and the recording is written in short segments so a crash or a flat battery costs you the last few seconds, not the lecture.

Reporting a bug

Send the model of iPhone, the iOS version, the app version from Settings → About, and what you did just before it went wrong. If a lecture is involved, its length and its transcription language. Do not send the recording itself — we do not want it and cannot use it.

Deleting your data

There is nothing on our side to delete: we hold no account and no copy of your lectures. Inside the app, any recording, transcript, course or term can be deleted on its own. Deleting the app removes everything it made on the device. What has synced to your own iCloud is removed with it, or from Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.

Cathedra AI and your data

The text of the lecture you are asking about is sent to DeepSeek through our own server so it can answer, and only after you have agreed on a screen that says so. Your audio is never sent. Our server keeps no transcript and logs no content.

Cancelling a subscription

Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Cathedra. Cancelling keeps the app working; only the AI answers stop at the end of the period.
